Experience some of the most bio-diverse forests in North America while riding and paddling through autumn foliage of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western NC! Inspiring views, beautiful waters, friends who share a belief in the power of action to create a sustainable and just future.

 

Join the 1st Annual Southern Forests Challenge 2008! Experience some of the most bio-diverse forests in North America while riding and paddling through autumn foliage of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western NC! Inspiring views, beautiful waters, friends who share a belief in the power of action to create a sustainable and just future.

Where: Our base camp for this adventure will be Headwaters Adventure Village near Brevard, North Carolina

Why: To experience breathtaking Southern forests in the Blue Ridge Mountains and support the work of the Dogwood Alliance to defend these and all the forests of the South

What: 100K or 30K of great road cycling in and around the beautiful French Broad River valley

A 1/2 day of paddling on the French Broad River (class 1, no stress)

How much: $500 - Fundraising Minimum. All funds raised go directly to Dogwood Alliance and the protection of Southern forests.

$90 Registration Fee plus small active.com transaction fee to cover the expenses of the Event.

Child care will be offered for children of riders during the event.
