Calls Needed This Week to Close Tax Loophole for Paper Companies PDF Print E-mail
Please make calls to Senate this week to help close the tax loop to paper companies, read below for more detail...

Reps of EPN and Green Press Initiative are in DC this week educating Congress on the black liquor loophole and other environmental paper related issues.

Please make one phone call today or tomorrow to support our message.  We need pressure on Max Baucus, Democrat from North Dakota, and chair of the Finance committee to take action on the black liquor loophole.  The ball is in his court, and they are stalling, and letting the paper state Senators keep their hands tied, and waiting for Obama's budget to take the action on this.  That means companies still keep getting millions of dollars through October 1st of this year, and much more job loss in the Canadian industry, and major damage done to the recycling industry, etc. etc.  The only chance for that scenario to improve, is for us to make it happen.  Below is a policy brief we are distributing to Senate offices and you could use for talking points.  Please call Senator Baucus' office in DC this week, before Wednesday afternoon, and ask to speak to an aide about this issue and at least leave a message on behalf of yourself and whoever you able to represent.  Please be sure to tell them they have to act NOW.  This will make an unbelievable difference for our cause this week.  The number is: (202) 224-2651.
