Stories Happen in Forests: Forests for All

In honor of Veteran’s Day, I’m excited to share with you the latest Stories Happen in Forests video: Forests for All! The stars of this video are veteran, motivational speaker, and blind adventurer, Lonnie Bedwell, along with aspiring recreational therapist and paraplegic adventurer, Maggie Gettys. This pair of forest-loving friends enjoy all the woods have to offer through adaptive sports.

Watch the video!

Whether kayaking, mountain biking, or rock climbing, Lonnie and Maggie trust each other with their lives. But the woods aren’t just a playground to these friends. They both share a deep reverence for our irreplaceable forests and all the life that can be found within them.

Getting to spend time with Lonnie and Maggie in the woods, I learned a lot about adaptive sports. I got to dance and laugh with Lonnie, and Maggie shared her dreams with me of helping others find healing and connection through recreational therapy like she did after her spinal cord injury. Much gratitude to Lonnie and Maggie for sharing their stories and an unforgettable experience with you and with me.

  1. It is great to see Dutch Passion about saving the forest and enjoying what they offer us. I spent six years seven the natural world but now my scope has expanded to owning my own Mountain which will have a Healing Center for battered women on it. This came to me in a dream about 20 years ago. So pray for me please! I have not seen the mountain yet but it’s coming. My mountain will be protected from mountaintop removal and will be cherished by the entire world because they will know battered women will be protected there also. Momma nature

    • Okay, please forgive all the typos above. It says Dutch I said ‘such’.
The next should say. ” I have spent 60 years saving the natural world’

Thank you so much for your tolerance of my typos. This is extremely tiny print, I don’t have the right glasses on and I’m old. There. Those are my excuses! Happy holidays everyone! Momma nature
