Standing with the forests and people of the South.

Dear Friend,

This year, North Carolina residents have sent nearly 1,000 messages to Governor Cooper urging him to stop supporting the wood pellet biomass industry. Thank you for being one of those individuals! Governor Cooper voiced strong criticism of the wood pellet industry in the 2019 Clean Energy Plan. Yet his Administration continues to advance polluting wood pellet projects in under resourced communities of color.

Earth Day is this week, and we want to send a collective message to Governor Cooper: Forests Help Secure Our Future!

Can you take a couple of minutes to call Governor Cooper and urge him to take action against the wood pellet industry?

We’ll provide a script and all you need to know to make your call. Personal phone calls are the most effective way to show elected officials that you care about an issue.

We need to make it clear to Governor Cooper that protecting North Carolina’s forests and ending state support for the wood pellet industry should be top priorities in his second term. His Administration can advance real and meaningful solutions for NC forests and communities — but he needs to act now.

Call Governor Cooper today and let him know that this issue is a top priority for his constituents — and it should be a top priority for him as well.

For our forests and communities,
