Connecting to the Wild Through Contemplative Photography
Join Dogwood Alliance for an online contemplative nature photography workshop in honor of our 25th Anniversary.
This 4 week course will take place every Tuesday evening in May from 6 PM to 7:30 PM ET beginning on May 4 and concluding on May 25, 2021.
Guided by photographer, Susan Patrice, photographers of all levels are invited to use their cameras as a tool for connecting deeply with the natural world. Through simple creative practices and meaningful and supportive reflections, we will make photographs that open the door to wonder and curiosity and inspire new ways of seeing and caring for a place.
Prior photography experience is not required and smartphones are welcome.
We will each commit to visually stewarding and photographing a chosen place over the course of 3 weeks, or 25 days, such as an urban patch of woods, the forest in our backyards, a small grove in an abandoned field, etc.
Each weekly class will gather online to share our photographs and experiences. At the end of the class, everyone will have the opportunity to share their images and insights with Dogwood Alliance as part of our 25th Anniversary celebration of protecting forests in the Southern US.
