The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GA EPD) issued a permit that allows Renewable Biomass Group to proceed with their biomass wood pellet mill proposal in Adel, Georgia. This is in spite of the fact that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mandates a public comment period before a permit like this is issued. The biomass pellet industry is laying waste to Southern forests, hurting the climate, and polluting our air and water. These pellet plants burden the health and prosperity of the communities where they are sited, usually in under-resourced communities of color.
